When we visited the LOC this morning we saw this sign. Apparently now they have several times a day when you can line up a walk through the Main Reading Room. Note the rules - no coats / no bags. Children under 16 with adult. Cool for them to see!!

One of the librarians kept parents and some of my kids from going in the other day, saying “school groups” aren’t allowed. Tho others did get in from different schools that very same time I was there! She also reported that the librarian told her bluntly “this is a trial, but we librarians don’t want it to work so we’re hoping it all falls apart” haha to say I was intrigued by the drama is an understatement. Haha 🍿 so hope everyone’s groups make it in!
All in all, maybe best chance is to not bring your entire group to the entrance and just to have them attempt it during their time at the loc in small groups (tho I didn’t bring my whole group so who knows-prayers for a nice librarian who doesn’t want to squash the hearts of children is the best bet ?!)
Look at the bottom three lines under the heading: Young Visitors. I was told on Friday morning that we were considered a school group. Perhaps just a few students, with an adult, could work that way around those last 3 lines.
We were just getting ready to leave for our Capitol tour when they opened it on the day I was there. Bummer that the timing didn't work for us.
One of my group members told me that they did this yesterday. I was surprised.
