We are excited to introduce our newest team member! Mackenzie Klosterman is coming onboard as our (much needed!) Administrative Assistant in the VA office. She will be working with the EPL Leadership/Support team, and helping our Admin Team with many other details.
Mackenzie is new to the Winchester area, and newly married. She comes to us with a business background, is a Christian school graduate, and her dad is a US Marine veteran- now a Christian school Admin along with her mom – an obvious perfect fit to join the ACTS family.
Mackenzie will be learning a lot at a very busy time of year. Ultimately, she will be one of the response voices you will hear from in all things EPL Support. (Maybe we won’t miss a birthday notice now!)
We are grateful for God’s timing in bringing Mackenzie to our team. Please keep her in your prayers as she dives in!

Just a reminder, if you are staying at a hotel prior to a trip or after a trip, the ACTS office has most likely made a room reservation in your name. Remember to pay with your personal credit card and make sure to get a receipt for the stay upon checkout. Submit that receipt along with your trip report to get reimbursed.
If for some reason it was posted to the ACTS account - please notify us right away.
Your room while you are with the group is taken care of with the group.

I received this update from Teri this morning - she told me I could pass it on to the staff...
"Good morning 🌤 Yesterday was long & exhausting but I slept well. Getting use to the walker tricky. Please keep those prayers going!
My leg kept buckling after surgery so they sent me home in this monstrous brace
Lets all keep Teri in prayers for quick and low-pain healing. Our God is the Healer! Praise Him for his goodness!

I would like to take an opportunity to welcome our three newest ACTS EPLS to the ACTS Team!
Lori Gagne comes to us from Port St. Lucie, Florida. Lori Gagne worked a number of years in public relations for firms in Miami, Florida. She then moved north to Port St. Lucie raising her children. Her children were enrolled in Morningside Academy where Lori ended up becoming a teacher for over 20 years. Lori was able to come on several ACTS programs and experience the ACTS tours firsthand.
Debbie Price currently lives in Winchester, VA - home of ACTS® Virginia office. She most recently worked at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley managing guest services and over 70 volunteers. She originally hailed from the Philadelphia area and most recently from Vermont before moving to the Top of Virginia.
Arick Madrigal hails originally from sunny California and then worked in Colorado Springs at the Air Force Academy before heading to St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Arick managed transportation for the school district and now owns his own businesses. He looks forward to getting to know D.C.
We look forward to getting know each one of them better. We thank God for connecting them with ACTS and look forward to seeing how God uses their gifts and skills to share His story and the story of our country with students. We look forward to seeing them at ACTS EPL Training on January 12 in Washington, D.C.

Hello ACTS EPLS
As some of you have already noticed - announcements have gone out notifiying D.C. Tour Guides that they must renew their license before December 31st, 2023.
We have a process in place to obtain those for you and will be working through that in the next week or so. You should not have to do anything. You will be contacted should we need your assistance.
Hey, hey! Tour season is right around the corner with our first trips actually going out in January and EPL training is coming up fast too (January 12-15, 2024). But between now and then the holidays I'm sure are filled with family, events, and meditation on the Birth of Christ. Enjoy your time celebrating.
Grace and peace... Jay

In 2010, the curator at the National Archives banned all photography in the Rotunda where the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are on display.
According to recent changes and on the road reports from EPLS...
"Is photography allowed?
Non-flash photography is encouraged in all public areas of the National Archives Museum unless otherwise posted."
According to on the road reporting, the reason/purpose for photos being allowed again at the National Archives is to promote awarness using social media. The new director throught that allowing visitors to take photos would work the best.

Fall tours at ACTS have begun. Please keep our EPLS, drivers, and participants in your prayers over the next two+ months as we transport, care for, tour, and most importantly share and pour truth and hope into the lives of our tour participants.
We many not all be out on the road this Fall due to a myriad of reasons but we can pray for God's favor and covering and encourage our tour staff out on the road.
We are excited to hear what God will do on our programs this fall.

Renovations of the Boeing Learning Center will begin on June 15, 2023, and the renovations of the Public Vaults will begin on July 5, 2023. We look forward to welcoming visitors back to these two areas when we reopen in the summer of 2025. During the renovation of the Boeing Learning Center, our Education staff will continue to facilitate on-site education programs for K-12 classes and teacher professional development sessions.
The National Archives Rotunda—home to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights—will remain open during the renovation. The Lawrence F. O’Brien Gallery, the David M. Rubenstein Gallery, and the National Archives Store will also remain open.
Make a note of it. :-)

A reminder to verify that your CC is being charged for pre and post EPL hotel rooms that you are supposed to be paying for.
Make sure that any hotel room receipts you are sending in for reimbursement matches your credit card. Thanks! (On certain occasions other arrangements with the office may have been prearranged and we need you to forward the receipt of those room charges to jay@acts-tours.com to be matched with our records.)
Thank You!

Many times the ACTS office will leave a credit card on file with different vendors to hold the space - but your itinerary will say CHECK.
The ACTS Accounting Department transfers funds from our trust account to cover trip expenses. When the reference says CHECK that is what the Accounting Departments is expecting you to pay with. When we deviate from that it causes complications on the office side.
The vendor may say "there is a card on file, should we just leave it on that?". If your itinerary says check - that is what you need to use! Thank you in advance!
