Safety is a major concern for American Christian Tours. Since our founding in 1984, we have provided secure, safe programs to 100's of thousands of travelers like you. American Christian Tours knows that as people look at taking a tour, safety is always a primary concern.
At ACTS we understand how important it is for safety to be number one. When we plan a tour we are constantly focused on the aspect of safety. It guides virtually every decision we make.
Here are some of the ways that we work to provide you and your group with a safe and enjoyable program:
Program Planning
ACTS takes time to research each vendor, restaurant and hotel. There are a set of guidelines we go through when choosing places to include on our tour program that provide our participants with a high level of quality and safety. We look for hotels that have high standards of safety and request that all pay-movies be disabled. We also choose motorcoaches that provide trained drivers, safe and comfortable equipment, and we follow all government guidelines with regards to motorcoach hours and procedures.
Education and Travel Program Leaders
Our professional staff of Program Leaders have been background checked, licensed and trained to always be aware of their surroundings as they lead your group. Among other things, they will provide their groups with safety instructions, evacuation plans and make safe choices when crossing streets, using walkways, and unloading coaches.
Trip Orientation
At the beginning of the tour, our ACTS Program Leader will provide the group with an orientation that includes a number of important safety announcements. They will remind students of the importance of being in groups and with chaperones. Violation of that can be grounds for a student being returned home.
Participant Badges
Each program participant is provided with an ACTS badge and lanyard that must be worn throughout the entire tour. It provides each person with our toll-free number and allows a participant to access our ACTS office and response personnel 24 hours a day.
Chaperones
Each ACTS student program provides a number of chaperones for every so many of students registered. The exact number varies with each program and the organizer, but always provides a responsible ratio of adults that will be assigned to groups of students.
Hall Security
ACTS hires bonded and licensed security chaperones to ensure the safety and security of our program participants at night in the hotels we use. These chaperones will monitor your hallways making sure that you have a good night of rest from evening until dawn the next day.
Doctors on Call
ACTS has worked to provide doctors on call that can come to our hotels, if necessary, to provide medical care. This service is available at the major cities that we visit. Your EPL is also provided with emergency contact information to hospitals, clinics, etc.
