Day 1 Monday April 13
Flight from Houston to Philadelphia. Check into our hotel.
Following dinner at our hotel we will enjoy a dramatic presentation of a famous Founding Father (or Mother!)
Meal included: Welcome Dinner!
Day 2 Tuesday April 14
Morning – We pay a visit to Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall which includes the National Constitution Center, Independence Hall Visitor Center, and the Liberty Bell.
Lunch – Free time to explore Independence Mall
Afternoon – A guided tour of Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was adopted and the Constitution was debated, drafted, and signed. We also explore the new Museum of the American Revolution which houses an exhibition that features a dynamic interactive look at the founding of our country and government.
Dinner - Philadelphia’s historic City Tavern
Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner
Day 3 Wednesday April 15
Morning - Depart Philadelphia for our drive to Lancaster County, PA. Today we visit Valley Forge National Historic Park where we have an in-depth look at the sacrifices made by the early patriots under the command of General George Washington.
Lunch – in route
Afternoon – We begin our adventure in Lancaster County’s Amish Country. Included is a meeting with an Amish family and a drive through the Amish Farm country making several stops along the way to absorb, first-hand, the Amish way of life.
Dinner
After dinner we attend “Jacob’s Choice” an experiential theater production which helps us discover what it means to be Amish and the core values that bind the community together in a rapidly changing modern world.
Evening – Check into our hotel in Lancaster County
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 Thursday April 16
Morning – Choice of Tours:
1. Artisan Tour of the Amish – A visit to several craft, quilt, and toy shops
2. Wheatland – The home of President James Buchanan
Lunch: Kitchen Kettle Village
Afternoon - Shopping or return to the hotel to rest and prepare for our evening at the theater!
Dinner – Family-style dinner at the hotel
Evening – Depart for Sight and Sound Theatre for the spectacular presentation of “Queen Esther”. This great Biblical saga traces the life of the orphaned Jewish girl who becomes the queen of Persia and heroically saves her people from extinction. The musical pageant is brought to life with magnificent sets, special effects, and live animals!

Day 5 Friday April 17
Morning: Check Out
Visit “Bird – in – Hand” Bake Shop before heading for the airport for our flight to Houston!
