Hello everyone, I wasn't sure how many EPL's are aware of this, so I wanted to share some tips about a loading/unloading area for the White House that has worked very well for me.
The north border of Lafayette Square Park is H St NW.
This year, a driver shared with me that they now allow buses to park on H St NW and unload and load groups there. I have been using this area for all my tours so far this year that have a "White House Photo Stop" on their itinerary and it has been working flawlessly. This is a considerable advantage, safety-wise, as buses can unload door-side directly to the park, and there is no need for any street crossing with your group. Drivers can wait there and do not usually need to leave.
If you are going to the White House for a photo stop, you might want to try it if you haven't yet. Simply instruct your driver to travel north on 17th St NW, and take a right onto H St NW. Park in the red lane up against the curb of Lafayette Square with the bus facing east.
If buses or other vehicles are there and there is no parking available, then continue to 15th St NW, take a right on 15th St NW, then left onto New York Ave NW to unload at the alternative bus unloading site. (Where we usually load and unload).
Refer to the picture below, where the load/unload site is circled in red.
Hope this helps!

I have used it as well. Very simple!
