Introduction ACTS Exclusive Destinations Booking a Program FAQ'S Request Form

Washington, D.C. is the core destination of ACTS Education Programs.

Keep in mind that Days 1 - 5 are examples.  Your Itinerary will be customized specifically for you.
DAY 1:
Today you will travel to your nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, you will be met by your ACTS Education Program Leader who will be your group through the duration of your program.  A trip to the base of the Washington Monument provides an overview of the famous National Mall.

**We take time to thank God for the opportunity to learn about our country's godly foundations.**

Our night "Illumination Tour" includes visits to the Jefferson Memorial and the F.D.R. Memorial.  Then it's off to the hotel for check-in and orientation.

Meal Included: Dinner

DAY 2:
On this very special day, we visit Arlington National Cemetery. We will see many important sites, with major stops being the Custis-Lee Mansion, the Kennedy gravesites, the U.S.S. Maine Memorial, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Here we will hold our own informal fellowship.

** We take time to pray, thanking God for the sacrifices made for our freedoms.**

At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, (if an appointment has been received) selected students may represent your school in a wreath-laying ceremony.

We will then travel to Mount Vernon for a visit to George Washington’s ancestral home. Your Education Program Leader will share the story of how God’s providential hand touched Washington’s life.  Later you may be able to have a special visit with Martha Washington during "My Husband, the General." (based on day and availability)

Tonight’s "Illumination Tour" will include stops at the Air Force Memorial and the United States Marine Corps (Iwo Jima) Memorial.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Dinner

DAY 3:
This morning we take a trip to the top of the Washington Monument. The National Mall, Capitol, White House, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, and other sites will come into view atop the 555-foot tall landmark. Our visit to the nearby World War II Memorial will remind us of the joint efforts of Americans both serving in battle and those on the homefront.

From there, we head to the Smithsonian Museums located on the National Mall. This gift from a British scientist was created "for the increase and diffusion of knowledge among men."

A visit to the National Archives allows us to view on display three of our nation’s most precious documents.

** We take time to pray, thanking God for the freedoms we enjoy in our country.**
Tonight we will hear from a famous Christian American being portrayed as part of the ACTS exclusive "Christians in History" evening program.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Dinner

DAY 4:
We will spend the entire morning on Capitol Hill, visiting the Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and of course, the United States Capitol Building (appointments can be requested). We will discuss how our Founding Fathers patterned the three branches of government after the hierarchies of the three dominant Christian denominations of the time.

**We take time to pray for our elected officials.**

We then visit the Holocaust Museum. This museum is dedicated to millions of victims of Nazi atrocities during World War II, with the motto "Never Forget."

On tonight's "Illumination Tour," we will see several memorials including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Korean War Veteran's Memorial.

Meals Included: Breakfast and Dinner

DAY 5:
This morning we visit the exterior of the White House (interior if appointment has been secured), home to every American President except George Washington.

**We take time to pray for our President and Cabinet.**

Next, we will have photo opportunities of Ford’s Theatre, where President Lincoln was shot, and the Petersen House, where he later died.

We head up to the Washington National Cathedral, the 6th largest cathedral in the world.  Along the way we may pass along Embassy Row.
We will either depart for the airport or continue your educational experience with a visit to another destination!

Meal Included: Breakfast (if this is the final day of the tour)
